ACADA Grand Nationals
Grooming is a competitive design craft and trade, and deserves to be recognized as such. Each year, some of the finest working groomers in the country convene at the Selby 100 Mile House for the ACADA Grand Nationals.
The Event
A national stage for an exacting trade.
The inaugural ACADA Grand Nationals will be held in 2027 at the Selby 100 Mile House in Ohio. Competitors will be selected from portfolios submitted in advance, with judging conducted on site by an ACADA panel.
The show is restricted to canines and felines. Awards are organized to recognize both breed-specific excellence and the broader categories that reflect how the trade is actually practiced.
Eligibility
Who may submit a portfolio.
- Currently enrolled ACADA students. Active enrollment in any PET Track at the time of submission.
- Professionals with ACADA credentials. Holders of an ACADA credential in good standing.
Portfolio submission opens prior to each annual event. Selected competitors are invited to travel to the Selby 100 Mile House for in-person judging.

Recognition for every form of the trade: from registered breed standards to rescue care, and the documentation of one's own craft.

Best in Breed
Awarded for any recognized canine or feline breed. Multiple breed champions are named at each Grand Nationals.

Best Mixed Breed
The trade is not only practiced on registered animals. Mixed-breed grooming demands the same craft and gets the same recognition.

Best Kept Rescue
Honoring exceptional care of rescued animals. Submissions document the work that restored coat, comfort, and presentation.

A Best in Show is named for each state with at least two qualifying entries.

Best Portfolio Presentation
A dedicated award for the most compelling portfolio submission, recognizing that documentation of one's work is itself a professional discipline.
Selby National Champion
The highest recognition of the year. One canine champion and one feline champion, named from among all state and category winners.
